“Sticks”
It’s not the same
At Cutbank, aerial footage isn’t an add-on. It’s a craft. We fly at 8k with whatever lens we want and that is what makes us capable of capturing true cinematic imagery that looks nothing like standard drone footage. The result is cleaner motion, richer color, and a level of depth and polish you simply don’t get from off-the-shelf setups (everyone else)
But the drone doesn’t fly itself. Cole “sticks” Netten, Cutbank’s lead pilot, approaches every flight like a filmmaker, not a hobbyist. Every move is intentional. Every shot is designed to serve the story, the brand, and the final cut, not just grab a cool angle.
Most drone footage shows you where something is. Ours shows you why it matters.
Dual Pilot Control
At Cutbank, we don’t fly drones the way most teams do. We use dual piloting—two specialists working in perfect sync—because it produces a level of precision, safety, and creative control that single-operator setups simply can’t match. One pilot is focused entirely on aircraft control and situational awareness, while the other concentrates solely on camera movement and composition. The result is smoother motion, more intentional framing, and shots that feel designed—not improvised.
Dual piloting also creates a safer, more controlled environment on set. With dedicated eyes on both the airspace and the shot, we’re able to operate confidently in complex locations while maintaining strict safety standards. Creatively, this approach unlocks perspectives that are nearly impossible otherwise—long, fluid camera moves, subtle adjustments mid-flight, and dynamic angles that feel cinematic rather than mechanical. It gives us the freedom to push shots further, refine them in real time, and capture aerial footage that stands apart from the rest.
